In 1875 on Thanksgiving Day, the St. James Hotel opened its doors after “11 civic-minded businessmen recognized the need for a first-class lodging establishment in the port city of Red Wing, Minnesota, the wheat-trading center of the world.” The St. James became an immediate sensation and the hub of activity in Red Wing.

“Now owned by the Red Wing Shoe Company, the St. James continues to offer guests the same medley of Old World service, cutting-edge amenities and culinary delights that it did on opening day almost 140 years ago.” The St. James Hotel is truly a great place for all to stay, and is located in the historic downtown Red Wing.

The St. James offers amenities for everyone from wedding parties to businesses. The hotel is able to host a wedding with available ceremony, banquet, and ballroom spaces, and also has a creative catering menu, not to mention many rooms for guests to stay. As for businesses, there are press rooms and meeting spaces available in the hotel as well.
