DEED Unveils Career and Education Explorer

Career Profile and ISEEK merge

A new tool offered by DEED will enhance the ability of students and job seekers to explore careers and education. 

The free Career and Education Explorer allows users to learn about specific occupational fields and find the related education they will need to work in those fields. Using the same tool, they can also explore areas of education that interest them and then find careers related to those areas. 

The tool merges the functions and data of two separate products – Career Profile and ISEEK – into a single entity. Among other improvements, the tool significantly expands the quality and scope of the education data that was previously offered by other products. 

Career and Education Explorer allows students and others who are interested in a certain field to view related job descriptions, typical job titles, wages, hiring demand and top industries. They can review live job postings in the field and find educational offerings for that field, including programs of study, costs, amount of time to complete a degree or other training, and much more. 

They also can search from the education side, finding schools and programs of study that match their interests and then looking at careers that correspond to those interests.
