Professional and Community Center to be sold for housing development

Mayo Clinic Health System has entered into a purchase agreement with a real estate developer to sell the shuttered Professional and Community Center on West Fourth Street and use the property to address affordable housing needs, the organizations announced.
Twin Cities-based Global Mercantile will purchase the former St. John's Hospital building for an undisclosed sum. Founder Pablo Murillo said in a statement he is excited to work with the city of Red Wing and area businesses on housing and economic development.
