The owners of United Noodles, whose Asian grocery store has been a tenant in Snelling Distribution Center in south Minneapolis for over three decades, have bought the building.

The $6.95 million deal closed in late December. The single-story, nearly 82,000-square-foot warehouse at 2001 E. 24th St. last sold for $5.4 million in 2018, according to county property records.

Eric Fung, co-owner and president of United Noodles Inc., described the purchase as a “huge investment” for the company, founded in 1972. A second United Noodles location opened in Woodbury in 2019.

“Owning the building means that we now have the security of knowing that we will never have to move,” Fung wrote via email from Taiwan, where he was staying. “We have been in the same location since the mid-80s, and we have a loyal customer base in this location. Moreover, it has become somewhat nostalgic for us as a company, and a part of our identity.”
