The Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area is the second-best in the country for women making more money than their partners, broker service Lendingtree announced.
Their rankings were based on the results of the American Community Survey, which is an ongoing project by the U.S. Census Bureau. Lendingtree looked at the 50 largest U.S. cities and their metro areas.
A woman was the top earner in 31.2 percent of Twin Cities couples. The only market with a higher percentage was Hartford, Conn., where women are the breadwinners 31.3 percent of the time.
The data didn't take into account single women or households where women are the only breadwinners.
