The Staghead Gastropub

Danielle and John Flicek, who recently worked at Zzest in Rochester, Minnesota, were deemed the winners of the Red Wing Restaurant Challenge in July. The opening of the restaurant was highly anticipated and served as the first step in Red Wing revitalization.

“The Fliceks made their pitch to Downtown Main Street and received $20,000 in start-up capital and another $20,000 of in-kind support through advertising and promotional services to reopen the restaurant, which had been closed for about five years.” Wendy Ward, the new executive director of Downtown Main Street, deems Staghead as “an incredible experience for Downtown Mainstreet,” and hopes for bigger and better ideas to take place in the future.

The restaurant offers “high-quality, non-fried meals for lunch and supper and an assortment of craft beer on tap.” Staghead also hosts live music as well as paint parties through Red Wing’s local non-profit art group, ArtReach where appetizers and drinks are available.
