Target Corp. begins search for City Center sublease tenants

Target Corp., which in March announced plans to vacate nearly 1 million square feet of office space in City Center in downtown Minneapolis, has quietly begun the search for tenants to sublease its former 33 S. Sixth St. offices.

While the City Center space is not formally listed for sublease currently, Minneapolis-based Target engaged brokers last week to market the offices to potential tenants. Target is looking for a user or users of significant size to soak up its vacant Minneapolis office space, and it is searching both within the Twin Cities market and nationally for potential tenants.

“In their perfect world, it’s one single user who can come in and take the whole darn thing,” said Adam Barrett, an occupier advisory specialist with the Minneapolis-St. Paul office of Colliers, who said Target engaged CBRE to market the space.
