Oliver’s Wine Bar

Owned by Tom Quanrud and Brian Schneider, Oliver’s Wine Bar opened its doors in April in downtown Red Wing, Minnesota. Before owning Oliver’s, Tom and Brian had one of the best coffeehouses down the street of Sheldon Theatre from 1998 to 2008.

The business partners sold the coffeehouse to open a flower shop and home design studio (also located downtown), “but people kept encouraging them to get back into the restaurant business,” which led to the opening of Oliver’s Wine Bar. So far, “people have been thrilled,” says Tom. “They loved that there’s a place to come to, right in the heart of downtown.”

The bar is one of the coolest in the area and serves wines not only from Red Wing’s Falconer Winery, but also from California, Spain, Argentina, and Chile. They also have four beers on tap as well as a few hard ciders, and their menu offers small dishes perfect to snack on with wine.
