Dan Rogness, Red Wing's new community development director, always enjoyed his pair of hiking boots.
"I like to get out, explore and take photos, so I'm wearing those boots a lot," said Rogness. "The Sunday before I started working here, and being aware of Red Wing's close relationship with footwear, I wanted to give the boots a closer look." Sure enough, the boots were made by Vasque Footwear, a division of Red Wing Shoe.
"I'm not sure if it was a sign," Rogness said. "But it got me excited to come to Red Wing and get to work."
Although born in Faribault, Minn., Rogness grew up in Wyoming and Montana, and wound up graduating from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S.D. When it came time to find a job, however, Rogness headed back to his birthplace.
