
Minnesota adds 1,000 construction jobs in May

Minnesota employers added 1,000 construction jobs and 7,700 positions overall in May, but the state’s unemployment rate ticked up to 2.9% as more people entered the workforce, according to new data from Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.
DEED announced Thursday that 8,700 workers entered the state’s job market from April to May, the third straight month with an increase. The labor force participation rate rose 0.1% to 68.2%.
