Downtown Main Street launches new app

Over the past year, 12 new businesses have opened in downtown Red Wing, and two more are slated to open soon. Add to that the increased Amtrak traffic from the Borealis train route, and Red Wing has seen an increase in out-of-town visitors in recent months.

Likewise, the new businesses mean that locals aren’t necessarily up to date on all that Red Wing has to offer for them now.

So Red Wing Downtown Main Street has launched a new mobile website to help everyone navigate the town.

“We see it as a kiosk in your hand that you can take with you,” says Downtown Main Street Director Andrea Hanson.

The website, which functions the same as an app, and can be saved to a phone home screen without having to be downloaded, contains a wide variety of information.
