    New owners plan community center in Goodhue historic church building

    For more than a century, families, friends and neighbors have gathered in the St. Luke Lutheran Church building in Goodhue and, while the church congregation relocated in March, the new building owners hope to continue that tradition.

    Brittany and Marc Huneke purchased the historic building and, according to Brittany, plan to turn it into a multi-use property with a large family apartment for rent in the basement and a community center in what was formerly the sanctuary.

    “There’s so many people in the community that the building has hosted big life events for, and so I think it’s important to be able to keep it a space where the community can come to,” she said. “We really hope we can make that happen.”
