August 18, 2024
The Red Wing City Council approved Aug. 12 using $17,000 from the city’s general fund contingency to repair the table tops and informational signs in the Upper Quarry of Memorial Park.
The park was vandalized after it closed for the season last year, which included breaking off the ends of the limestone picnic tables and destroying the signs, according to Public Works Director Shawn Blaney.
The estimated cost for the materials is $11,000, plus $6,000 in labor costs, according to Blaney.
